Let me tell you about myself...
Dr. Jessica Holownia, DDS
Before I became a dentist, I desired to go into a career that would allow me to give back and help people. Which brings me to this website! I am passionate about educating people and helping inform you on the types of decisions you can make regarding your oral health.
I graduated from Loma Linda University in 2018 with my Doctorate in Dental Surgery. I always knew that I wanted to go into the healthcare profession. As a small child I loved to dress up and play doctor. (Yes, I was that child who dressed up as a doctor or veterinarian for Halloween.) In high school, I had the opportunity to shadow a dentist for career day. I wish I could say that day changed everything and I was sold on dentistry from the start- but well that’s simply not true…
Jess, I want you to educate me on oral health!

Can I be honest?
I am out of my comfort zone, I haven’t been one to be posting my life on Social Media. I am a private person… so sharing this much is CRAZY! But here is “Why” I am doing this… If there’s one thing I have noticed being a dentist, it is that people always have questions about their mouth. Whether its sitting in a coffee shop, or going to someone’s house for dinner, as soon as people find out I am a dentist I get questions. Things like “I’m wondering if I could ask you about …. “ or “I’m too embarrassed to ask my dentist but I was wondering if you could tell me about …” or “Hey you are a dentist? What’s your thoughts on product A”. People have all of these questions, but nowhere to really ask them. And let’s be honest- sitting in the dental chair is no one’s favorite place to be.
Typically, you want to get in and out of there as soon and painless as possible.
There is often a lot of fear, and pain associated with going to the dentist- and frankly its’ not the most comfortable place to ask questions. Not to mention the fact that most dentists talk way over your head, and many people leave feeling confused, frustrated or worse off than when they came in. There is a huge gap between what we know as professionals and what the average off the street patient walking in the door knows.
But the reason “Why” is more than that…
